Day 4: Amazing. Period.
One week. Four days. Memories for life. 65 campers. 120 in community (including those behind the scenes giving rides, picking up food, replenishing soap for restrooms). Nothing could bind us together if not for the love of God!
Words from our Summer Camp Lead, Hannah Mekhael:
“We’re so proud of every camper for diving into our fun challenges and activities with open hearts and big smiles. From building masterpieces to making new friends, each day has been a joyful celebration of creativity, teamwork, and discovery. Get ready for even more energy-packed fun! We’ll start exploring our artistic talents, pushing boundaries on the sports field, and sharing laughter-filled moments together. Can’t wait to see what new adventures await! Here’s to building more memories, embracing every moment, and continuing this incredible journey—together.”
Week 2 continues: Monday to Thursday (July 21-24) 9am to 1pm
Your children will take part in activities focusing on growth in character, creativity, and calling - with art and camp creations to bring home as keepsake.
All who take part in the soccer program (11:30am-1pm) will receive a free T-shirt from SoCal Eagles!
All children must wear close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle. Kids who own cleats and chin guards can (but are not required to) bring them.
Day 3: When Fashion meets Superman!
Reminders for Week 1 Day 4:
1. Come prepared for WATER GAMES: Bring a spare T-shirt and wear a cap!
2. Celebration is the theme of the day. Let’s finish Week 1 STRONG!
3. Get prepared for Week 2 - SoCal Eagles are coming to VOR! Last day to turn in signed waivers.
All the campers and volunteers knew they were part of something extra special, when they witnessed this:
True, the instructions don’t say, but with imagination and teamwork, you CAN dream and soar!
A moment that will feature in our shared stories for years to come!

Day 2: Team Up & Soar!
Today we had carnival games at the park and came back to build the best planes. And the winners are….Team Blue!
Wednesday is for….S.H.A.W.A.R.M.A.! Thanks to our generous donors, we will be celebrating the summer day with special treats featuring falafel, lamb, chicken, and beef shawarma. See you there!
Thanks everyone for being superb with the soccer waiver. The SoCal Eagles are preparing some good stuff for all campers to experience (with calm activities prepared for campers who do not have parental permission).
Practice Public Speaking!
Ahed represents her team to introduce the team’s creation (prompt: “Build the best plane!”) to the judges.
The Result is In!
Each day of Week 1, after a careful judging process, the winning team is announced and celebrated for their creativity teamwork.
Everyone’s Contribution Matters!
Campers start out with individual games, where they earn points for their team.
Day 1: Amazing Start!
We are thankful to share that Day 1 of Summer Camp was a success! Over 60 campers and 40 volunteers (even some driving 10+ hours from Oregon) joined hands to make it possible.
For Day 2, bring a hat and water bottle! We’ll be playing in the park!
Please sign and return the Soccer Waiver Form, or fill it online: https://forms.gle/YoUHfrYt7YkuhaEw7
Thank you for arriving and picking up on time - parents, you’re amazing!
How to Prepare

Bring your own water bottle. Snacks and refill water will be provided during the day.
Wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothes to play in.
Our partner SoCal Eagles is coming to teach soccer to campers in Week 2 July 21st to 24th (12-1pm). If you give permission for your child to participate in high quality soccer instruction, please sign the waiver form.
If your child has special medications and health needs, please alert the VOR staff so that we’re prepared to handle and communicate with you in case of emergency.
If a VOR staff or volunteer is giving your children a ride:
You will receive the volunteer name and phone number from a VOR staff member.
Confirm with the volunteer the day before the ride, about the exact pickup time and place at your community.
Be ready to meet, as early as 8am or at the time decided with the volunteer.
If you or a friend is giving your children a ride:
Check in (9-9:15am) at the Building 2 Patio. Staff will be there to welcome you and check in everyone.
Pick up your child (1-1:15pm) at Building 4 Entrance. For safety, children will not be dismissed early.
