Who we are

In 2009, VOR was established by three dedicated individuals who, as refugees and immigrants from the Middle East, found a new home in the U.S. Motivated by their personal experiences, our founders initiated a pioneering initiative – a used furniture distribution program – within the confines of a simple garage.

Today, VOR is a privately funded, grassroots organization that depends on the dedication of volunteers to serve and assist our global neighbors as they Stabilize, Integrate, and Thrive. We partner with many churches and community-based organizations to provide holistic support to refugee and immigrant families, addressing their immediate and long-term needs.

Since its inception, VOR has been unwavering in its commitment to comprehensive care. Our multifaceted services, designed to meet both relief and development needs, include but are not limited to: English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, case management, job mentoring, youth empowerment programs, driver training, and memorable seasonal events. Through these efforts, we strive to create a community where every individual can find purpose and belonging.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO?

'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. ' - Jesus

Matthew 25:35-37
